Peek-a-boo!
Here's a cute video of Ethan playing peek-a-boo with Noah (you'll have to excuse the video quality...it was taken on Jay's iPhone with an app that turned his camera into a video camera).
The Zoo!!
We had a beautiful, sunny, 8 degree day in March, so we went to the zoo! Ethan was determined to see his favourites: the new baby giraffe (Sophie...of course), the hippos, and the elephants. We also tried taking him through the new dinosaur section (with mechanical, life-sized, realistic dinosaurs). Needless to say, we quickly learned why there weren't many other 2 year-olds there...they roar...loudly...and it's scary! Ethan freaked out. Afterwards, every other animal we saw, Ethan's comment was, "and it doesn't make any noise!".
You can also see evidence of Noah's newest discovery...his tongue! He loves to stick it out, it's quite funny!

Ethan turns 2..Aunt Sarah visits!
More visitors for Noah!
When Noah was just over a month old we were fortunate enough to have more family come by for a visit and to meet Noah! Grandpa and Grandma Green came and stayed for an extra-long weekend, then Uncle Stephen came as well. As you can see, when Grandma Green was here Ethan had a great time learning to bake for the first time!
Some fall pictures...
Noah's First Two Weeks
Noah arrived half an hour before his due date, much to his mother's surprise, who assumed she was going to be a week overdue again! He also arrived much faster than his big brother with only about 3 hours of labour total.
Noah's stats:
Born: September 22
Weight: 7 lbs 11.6 oz
Height: 20 inches
Sharon's parents arrived when Noah was 6 days old. Ethan loved having his Nana and Papa around and we were spoiled with home cooked meals and a clean house:) Here are a few pictures from Noah's first two weeks. There is also a Picasa album to look at if you're interested.

Ethan learning to ride a bike...
So, we bought Ethan a run bike (basically a 2-wheeled bike without pedals) a couple of months ago. He was too short to use it until about 3 weeks ago and he's made amazing improvements...check out the video!
Lake O'Hara
We spent two glorious days at Lake O'Hara with our good friends Mark and Carmen when I was 36 1/2 weeks pregnant. It is considered a backcountry campground but we were spoiled with a bumpy 11 km bus ride up a dirt road to our camp site. Ethan wanted to drive the bus but was actually a little scared once the noisy bus started up. The camp ground was quite nice with filtered running water, a fire pit with chopped fire wood, and two cooking shelters. We managed one 6 km hike up to Lake Oesa with Ethan taking his nap along the way. Ethan was quite the character in the tent at night talking up a storm (not used to having mom and dad right beside him to go to sleep!) All in all, it was a beautiful weekend and we didn't deliver baby #2 in the woods:)
Grandpa & Grandma Visit
Grandma and Grandpa Green and Uncle Adam came for a visit in August. While they were here they helped us build a wall to convert our loft into a third bedroom. We were wishing we had taken more pictures of the process but Ethan was right in there helping everyday wanting to drill, hammer and paint right along side us. We didn't have awesome weather while they were here but we did manage to get out to the park several times and spent a day in Canmore. To see more pictures of the visit see our Picasa album link on the right of the blog.
Cottage 2009
This year we spent two glorious weeks at the cottage. Ethan had many new adventures including motor boat rides (thanks to Papa), canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, watching the sea doo ("more noise!"), and going to town to watch the Chi Cheemaun come in. But by far his favourite thing to do was to wade in the water by the dock and splash anyone within reach. Hours of fun!
Calgary Stampede
So, not necessarily the pictures you would expect from the Calgary Stampede. Looks more like Canada's Wonderland, but we enjoyed the morning at the Stampede taking in the sights and sounds. Ethan especially liked the horses you could pet. He'd go to pet them and then chicken out...it was pretty cute!
Chester Lake
After a free pancake and sausage breakfast in Canmore to celebrate Canada Day, we went for a beautiful hike to Chester Lake. This hike is ideal for kids and Ethan was able to hike one of the many meadows we came across.
