The first snowfall....
1st Birthday Party!
We had about 20 people over for Ethan's first birthday party. We really only took pictures of the cake event.
Notice the Tweety Bird cake...home made with some help from a wonderful mother-in-law:)

Ethan's 1st Birthday!
We had a party for Ethan two days after his actual birthday (pictures to come). But these photos were taken on his real birthday.
Ethan's become a good little stander.
This is Ethan's new toy from mom and dad. He's just starting to dance when music comes on...it's so cute!
These pictures would suggest that he loves playing on his own. But he's got you fooled...if mom or dad leave the room even for a minute, he let's out a cry and tries to follow us....hopefully this is a phase(?)

Early Birthday Present
We had the good fortune of Jay's mom coming out to "babysit" Ethan while we moved. We didn't move far, we can see our old place from our new place's backyard. So since Jay's mom was here a week before Ethan's 1st birthday, he got to open a present early!
Yes, that's football that Ethan is watching in the background.....and yes his dad is very proud!A farm! Ethan now knows how to say Moooo and Baaaa.
The first thing Ethan did was dropped all the animals down the silo:)
San Francisco vacation!
Cottage 2008
Jay was able to arrange a month elective at the cottage this past summer (called research and web design...pretty impressive!) We had a fabulous time and Ethan enjoyed many firsts.....his first dunk in the lake, first ride in a kayak, first hike on the Bruce, first swing in the hammock and the list goes on! Check out the Picasa Album for more firsts!!!
Assiniboine Trip
In July we spent five days in the back-country with a bunch of friends. It was the first time mom left Ethan with the grandparents!! We hiked in 28 km to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, and Mount Assiniboine is the large mountain you see in the background of these pics. We stayed in some very small rustic log cabins and did some day hikes in the area. We then flew out by helicopter!
